Chasa Plavna in Scuol

Total conversion of Badehotel Belvair
The Badehotel Belvair was completely rebuilt and the restaurant, reception and rooms were equipped with modern interior design. Further renovation stages followed in 2015 and 2019.

Construction of the new Cha'Sura annexe
Opposite the GuardaVal, the Cha'Sura annexe is being replaced by a new building with apartments, an underground car park and a ski and bike room for the hotel.

Construction of the passerelle to the bath
With the construction of the connecting passage from Belvedere to Engadin Bad Scuol, our guests can now go to the bath in their bathrobe.

Opening of the Vereina Tunnel
The 19,042-metre Vereina Tunnel is opened and enormously shortens the journey time by train to Scuol. The car shuttle offers a fast and convenient way to reach the Engadine without having to drive over the pass.

Opening of the new Engadin Bad Scuol
The newly built Engadin Bad Scuol opens in March 1993. It replaces the old baths, which were no longer up to date. The new bath includes the first Roman-Irish bath in Switzerland.

Opening Hotel Chasa Belvair
The Hotel Chasa Belvair (today Badehotel Belvair) is built with a direct connection to the Engadin Bad Scuol.

Construction of the gondola lift
In the middle of the 20th century, the health resort is transformed and winter sports are increasingly practised. In 1956, the first cable car was built to Motta Naluns, taking guests up the popular local mountain in summer and winter.

The GuardaVal gets its present name
After a change of ownership, the Hotel Könz is given a new name and becomes the Hotel Guardaval. The hotel retains this name to this day.

Extensions
The Hotel Belvedere is always being expanded somewhat with a larger terrace or the current Belle Epoque room from 1926, which still has its original design today.

Inauguration of the Postbus line
The Schuls-Tarasp-Vulpera postbus line is ceremoniously inaugurated with distinguished personalities. Motorised private cars are not allowed in Graubünden until three years later, in 1925.

Opening of the railway line
The Bevers-Schuls railway line is ceremoniously opened. The festive banquet takes place at the Hotel Belvedere. The new railway line considerably shortens the travel time to Scuol.

Team of three
Together with the Hotel Post (today Center Alpin) and the family hotel Du Parc (today office building), the Belvedere already formed a small hotel group at the beginning of the 20th century.

Renaming to Hotel Könz
The Hotel Piz Champatsch is renamed Hotel Könz before 1900 after the name of its owner and receives a dependence opposite (today the new building Cha'Sura).

The new Hotel Belvedere
The new Hotel Belvedere was built in 1876 on the newly constructed village street «Stradun». The modern building is equipped with the latest comforts for the time.

Opening Hotel Piz Campatsch
Today's Hotel GuardaVal is opened as Hotel Piz Campatsch. The hotel includes a posthorse station for carriage connections from Süs (today Susch) to Schuls and Nauders.
