Clean Drinking Water in Uganda
Water is a great gift of nature, especially in Scuol, as it was the mineral springs that made tourism in the Lower Engadine possible in the first place and still promotes it today. With the cooperation "Cause We Care" we support a water project in Uganda, which provides clean drinking water in households and schools with drinking water filters.
From your contribution for a climate-neutral stay in our hotels, a part of the revenue is donated to a global aid project within the framework of the cooperation with "Cause We Care". Since water is of great importance to us in Scuol and we consider our water quality a privilege, we support a project that enables the population in disadvantaged countries to have clean drinking water thanks to filter systems. The project in Uganda not only provides clean water, but also reduces the CO2 emissions caused by boiling water with wood and charcoal stoves.
With electric UV filters, Kramik filters and ultra-filtration systems, the programme provides families, schools and other institutions with access to these water filtration technologies. The water treatment systems filter between 120 and 650 litres of water per hour. This can provide clean drinking water for up to 1,000 children in schools. Smaller filter systems with a treatment capacity of 2 to 6 litres per hour are used in households.
